I work part-time at the North East Scotland Biological Records Centre and spend the rest of the working week as an entomological consultant.
For over ten years I have provided a postal invertebrate identification service specializing on selected families within the Diptera (true flies), Coleoptera (beetles) and Aculeate Hymenoptera (bees, wasps, and ants).
I have a particular interest in hoverflies (Syrphidae) and their early stages (egg/larva/puparium/) which are the focus of my research efforts.
